This is a collection of stray verses composed by Utpaladeva at different periods, in different
conditions, and discovered by his admirers in total disarray. They were collected by one Visvavarta
and compiled into twenty stotras under the present name, and commented upon by Ksemaraja, the author's great-grand-disciple. Of the twenty stotras only three bear the order given to them by the
author himself, while the rest, which have come down to us in the recension of Visvavarta, hardly justify the name by any accepted canons of Sanskrit poetry. In fact, they are disconnected verses
reflecting philosophical thoughts, emotional stresses, doubts and experiences of the author at various stages of his spiritual evolution. This book contains the spontaneous outpourings of a master mind set on
the discovery of the truth of existence and its application to life on earth.
Note: This book has an excellent Introduction and an equally impressive Translation, its highly recommended. If you wish to order the book please contact publisher
